Welcome to Fiddler on the Proof — or, as we like to call it around here, The Fiddler.

Starting Friday, July 7, I’ll be posting a mathematical puzzle for readers to solve each week. These puzzles are designed to challenge and delight you. You’ll have several days to come up with a solution and submit it. The following week, I’ll reveal the solution, give shoutouts to those who submitted exceptional work or explanations, and congratulate a winner chosen at random from those who submitted correct solutions.
